His unique financial acumen and deep, bottom-up technical knowledge has enabled him to provide an unparalleled solution to those considering the adoption of LED lighting. From an unbiased perspective Matt has immersed himself in the LED landscape and synthesized a progressive, yet pragmatic market-based solution. Matt’s career spans roles in the purchase of distressed/bankrupt financial obligations and origination of high-yield debt/equity. In that capacity, Matt traversed investment opportunities across multiple industries and asset types such as corporate bankruptcy debt obligations, mezzanine loan originations, designer loan workouts, and equity/debt blends for industries ranging from natural resources, to agriculture, to healthcare, to automotive. Matt has also worked in consulting roles that spanned industries and functions such as implementing microcredit securitization processes in emerging markets as well as performing the turnaround of a faltering manufacturing firm. Pre-career, Matt grew-up working in the industrial storage construction field, serving as project foreman during his latter years in that industry. Matt has an engineer’s DNA and has applied that mode of thinking to a variety of endeavors. Matt graduated summa cum laude from the University of Massachusetts Boston with a Bachelor of Science in Business Management (Finance Concentration) and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology.
Brian Hunt - Senior Advisor
Brian has over 18 years of real estate and energy-related development, investment, and capital markets expertise. He has been involved in multiple activities centered around renewable energy and energy efficiency throughout the United States and globally. Currently, he is responsible for corporate development at Homeland Renewable Energy, one of the country's largest agricultural waste-to-energy firms. He is also the principal renewable energy and energy efficiency strategy advisor to the global industrial, Mars, Inc. Previously, Brian co-founded an investment venture affiliated with C Change Investments that focused on pooled investment in distributed generation and energy efficiency projects. He has also worked for Ameresco, one of the nation’s leading ESCOs, where he assisted with strategy and business development, capital raising, and deal structuring for renewable energy and efficiency projects in the commercial, industrial, and private markets. Brian has held multiple lead-roles in the development, asset management, and acquisition of over 2,000 multi-family residential condominium units and over 5 million square of office and mixed-use properties. Brian has held executive positions at several opportunistic private equity funds, and at one of the nation’s largest REITs, Boston Properties. In these roles, Brian orchestrated multiple efforts supporting environmental sustainability, including performing one of the nation's first LEED Silver Core/Shell retrofits of an existing, 30 year-old building. Brian graduated from Harvard University.
